The purpose of life is not to be happy - but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all.

Taxila Business School organized a Blood Donation Camp on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The response at the camp was overwhelming. The Students and teachers of Taxila donated blood with great enthusiasm.

Those who could were not eligible to donate blood (underweight being the most common reason) were seen distributing bananas and coffee to the donor, doing their part of service for the noble cause.

Members of The international youth organization Aiesec also participated in the blood donation camp. Sonal Bakliwal who is a regular donor of blood said “ I never miss a chance to donate blood , its amazing to be associated with a social cause.”

WE HAVE A GUEST FROM CHINA !!!!

We have a CEEDer !!!

JODY !!! from CHINA ...

she is here for 2 weeks and will be working with the Development Sector !!!

CEED: Cultural Envoy for Exchange Development, program of internal exchange in AIESEC, in frames of which members of one LC/MC can spend time working in other LC/MC in chosen country inside the network. CEED can last from 2 weeks up to even a year.

Types of CEEDs:
Contribution CEED Program – CEED Program for AIESEC members who are experienced and are willing to contribute to the management or development of one or more areas of host committee, while supporting cooperation plans with the CEEDer's sending committee. During this Program CEEDer shares the knowledge and is able to learn more strategic approach to the organization. He/she brings a fresh view and ideas for home LC improvements.
Learning CEED Program – CEED Program for members who are on introductory phase of their AIESEC career. Through this program the hosting LC will contribute to the training, development and motivation of an international AIESEC member; while developing cultural sensitivity and internationalism in their own members and supporting cooperation plans with the CEEDer's sending committee. During this Program CEEDer develops in areas of his/her interest and brings the knowledge and experience to home LC.

SELECTION !!

There can be several candidates for CEED position in your LC, therefore be ready to undergo a selection process if u are applying for one !
Selection is mostly based on application and consider the following criteria:

---Working experience in area where you expect CEEDer to work
---Competencies you defined
---Language
---Geographical origin if you need a person from particular country

If you still have doubts, it is recommended to have skype chat with the host LC in order to make the final decision!

for the HOST LC >>>>>
CEEDer is selected, so it's time to prepare him/her. Preparation consists of two stages: before arrival and upon arrival.

PREPARATION:
---Support with formalities: visa procedure, insurance
---Make sure he/she booked the flights
---Set clear, measurable goals for the CEED, exchange expectations from each other
---Find out what CEEDer wants to learn
---Create a final version of JD after after finding out about his goals and expectations
---Prepare and send detailed JD, you can include timetable as well
---If you want CEEDer to prepare something before arrival or to bring some information and materials you must tell him/her that as soon as possible

---Plan activities in which CEEDer would like to participate ( like Reception Weekends, conferences)
---Provide all information about your LC, city and country (reception booklet, ppts, currency, food, taboo, weather etc.)
---Arrange accommodation and get sure that CEEDer agrees for it
---Decide who will be CEEDers buddy and responsible person and arrange contact between them
---Agree how the CEED tracking and evaluation will look like
---Provide information with whom CEEDer will be working at give contacts
---Be sure you know when CEEDer arrives and leaves and that someone will pick him/her up
---Meeting with LCEB at which you should: establish work plan and deadlines, present plan of LC activities CEEDer can join, do the briefing of expectations and goals agreed online before arrival, agree on measurements, discuss how do you see cooperation with LC in the future (initial)

---Introduce CEEDer to all people he/she will work with and support establishment of meeting with these people
Give CEEDer a place to work

HOSTING and TRACKING
To make CEED effective as for you so for the CEEDer hosting & tracking process are essential ones.

Evaluation and tracking: you should be meeting with CEEDer on regular basis and check the progress in goals realization. Meeting once a week, at the beginning, to check the work of last week and set priorities for the one makes you sure that process goes smoothly. The same time you need to track realization of CEEDers goals and support in their realization.

Reception (LC involvement, cultural): in terms of reception CEEDer should be treated as interns and be actively involved in it. Thanks to it he/she can create a better network of contacts. Moreover CEEDer can be organizer of the reception. CEEDer shouldn’t be closed only to JD. You should give the opportunity to interact with LC, to experience different LC reality.

Knowledge sharing: organize “AIESEC sharing” meetings. Let CEEDers, member, interns, returnees, exCEEDers discuss different AIESEC topics and share the knowledge and advise each other on the topics.

At the end of CEED ask CEEDer to make a presentation summing up whole his/her CEED.
